Our Seastore there offers rentals in tri-toons, bowriders, PWCs and all the sporting gear you need for a day of fun on the water.

In pontoons, we offer Manitou and South Bay boats with plenty of room for your party crowd, and 150 or 200 hp outboards to get you around. One of the South Bay models includes a rooftop deck with a slide off the back! The gang will love it.  Prices range from $540-$750 per day (9 am to 6 pm).

Get Centered

Center console boats are like the SUV’s of the boating world. Whether you’re looking for luxury, hauling a large group, making it down the lake as fast as possible, getting a smoother ride in rougher water, or all of the above, center consoles are a great option for Lake of the Ozarks.

With their high freeboard, curved hull, high chines and matched with a set of outboards (dual, triple or quad), these boats will move you quickly around the lake, in dry comfort, with plenty of comfortable seating for the entire family.

What’s your pleasure? Cruising the lake? Getting out to your favorite fishing spot early? Dragging the kids behind on skis or tubes until they’re screaming with fun? Or maybe taking your client out for a cocktail sunset cruise, before heading to dinner at some lakefront spot?

Center consoles are versatile machines, and can handle all of that, and more, with ease.

Center consoles require lower maintenance in terms of storing/winterizing, so when the cooler weather returns, in October through February…taking the crew out for a quick spin, feeling the sun on your brow and listening to the outboards purring behind you … are all possibilities that center consoles can fulfill.

Here at Big Thunder Marine, we carry a wide variety of center consoles that can easily match the boating needs of any size family.

The Fountain 39NX (stands for “Next Generation”) has beautiful curved lines, acres of seating space in both bow and stern, fully equipped Garmen dual display helm electronics, and a V-shaped berth and head below. The triple set of Mercury 350 Verados on the stern will get you around the lake just as fast as you want.

Or maybe the sleek lines of the Statement  380 Open, with its stepped hull design, is more your speed. You’ll love the underwater LED lights for effect, and the bow thruster for ease of docking, while your passengers will enjoy the luxury details of the upholstery in the forward and stern loungers, the new T-Top design, and a powerful Mega stereo system and speakers that will have you rockin’ the Ozarks for years to come!

We’ve also got some models from Predator and Blackfin which are well worth a look.

Versatile, performance oriented, powerful and ready to go year-round. That describes one of the great center console models resting at our docks.

Call for an appointment and come see these multi-purpose boats that will light up the lake!

Wake Effects Moves to the All New Family Boating Center in Osage Beach

The 2019 summer boating season is finally starting to wind up here at Lake of the Ozarks. We’ve had an extremely busy “off-season” moving our Wake Effects by Big Thunder location to the all-new Family Boating Center located at 3534 Osage Beach Parkway in Osage Beach, MO.

Wake Effects operated out of the same single location right off of Passover Road in Osage Beach, MO for the previous 8 years. After 2018, we saw a need to create a location that combined our water sports store with our family-oriented boats. Wake Effects by Big Thunder had a soft opening at the end of the 2018 boating season at the all-new Big Thunder Marine Family Boating Center. Since then, we’ve diligently worked to create a one-of-a-kind store in the heart of Lake of the Ozarks that is a true one-stop shop.

With the move, we were able to expand the brands and products that Wake Effects by Big Thunder carries. Some of the new products include kayaks, boat cleaners, oils, batteries and more apparel and water sports brands like Patagonia, Costa, Lib Tech and Follow Wake. One major note to make with the move is that the Wake Effects by Big Thunder service department is no longer at the same location as the pro shop and sales.  The service department moved to a brand new state-of-the-art facility located at 147 Glencove Blvd in Lake Ozark, MO 65049 and can be reached at 573-964-3441.

To add to the Wake Effects by Big Thunder move, the Family Boating Center not only houses our entire pro shop and MasterCraft boat line; it is a 22,000-square-foot facility that houses our 4 pontoon/tri-toon boat lines (Manitou, Crest, South Bay and JC Tritoons),  our bowrider boat line (Monterey), smaller center consoles and our used and brokered inventory for water sport boats, pontoons/tritoons and bowriders.  On average, you can find 25 to 30 boats in the indoor showroom and another 50+ boats on the lot.

What you can expect to find at this location in regards to retail:

Wakeboards, water skis, tubes, wakesurfers, kneeboards, life jackets, ropes, men’s apparel, women’s apparel, kid’s apparel, sunglasses, kayaks, paddleboards, coolers, sun screen, sandals, boat ballast, and other boat and watersport accessories.

What you can expect to find at this location in regards to boats:

MasterCraft, Monterey, Black Fin, South Bay, Crest Marine, Manitou, JC Tritoons, used and brokerage watersport boats, bowriders and pontoons/tritoons.

Wake Effects Wins “Retail Shop of the Year”

Wakeboarders and waterskiers around Lake of the Ozarks have known for years that Wake Effects is the best watersports shop around. Now, the rest of the country knows that as well.

Wake Effects by Big Thunder Marine was recently named “Retail Shop of the Year” by the Water Sports Industry Association (WSIA). The group is an important advocate for towed watersports, and they work hard to promote the sport, to maintain waterway access rights and more.

The award was presented at WSIA’s annual summit in Colorado. Wake Effects’ Retail Manager, Ryan Moriearty, and Assistant Retail Manager, Chase Sabbert, attended the summit and accepted the award.

Moriearty said what makes the award especially gratifying and humbling is that it isn’t a popularity contest or an event where one store’s customers can stuff the ballot box. Each WSIA member gets one vote, and members make up the entire spectrum of the watersports community – retailers, manufacturers, people who run watersports schools, and more. The vote also isn’t based so much on sales, but rather on how a retailer works to promote watersports.

“It has just as much to do with special events, demo days and all the stuff that we do,” said Moriearty. “It’s as much about all the stuff we give back to the sport.”

As anyone who enjoys watersports around Lake of the Ozarks knows, Wake Effects gives plenty back to the sport. That includes hosting events like Radar Nation Day. The event is part of the national Radar Nation Tour put on annually by Radar Skis and Mastercraft Boats. The tour only makes roughly 8 stops throughout the country. It’s a free event designed to introduce people to waterskiing.

Wake Effects also does an event called Surf Sundays several times a season. On Surf Sundays, a crew from Wake Effects will pull up to restaurants along the lake to see if anyone wants to try wakesurfing. The Wake Effects crew teaches them how to wakesurf, and the entire experience is completely free.

Wake Effects also holds many other events over the course of a season, including hosting several clinics with pro riders.

Besides hosting events, Moriearty says they work to promote the sport at the shop by passing along their knowledge to customers and helping to get them involved in the sport. And the crew at Wake Effects has plenty of watersports experience and knowledge to pass along.

“Pretty much everyone who works here, we all work here because it’s a passion of ours,” says Moriearty. “We do pretty much everything, every kind of watersport.”

Moriearty says that experience is helpful in diagnosing any problems or issues a customer has. The fix isn’t always selling someone a new product. Sometimes, it’s a simple fin or boot adjustment. Moriearty says they won’t sell customers something they don’t need.

“We’ve always prided ourselves on not being a pressure shop,” says Moriearty. “We spend quite a bit of time with customers understanding what they need.”

Wake Effects might now be recognized as the best watersports shop in the country. But rather than be satisfied with that title, the shop is still working to improve.

Moriearty says Wake Effects recently moved from its old 6,000-square-foot retail space into a new 22,000-square-foot space. He says that will allow them to offer more products and services to customers, including kayaks and paddleboards.

It seems the best watersports shop in the nation is getting even better.

Big Thunder’s New Showroom Showcases Extensive Brands

Big Thunder Marine features some of the best brands in boating and now has the perfect place to showcase them.

The company recently opened its state-of-the-art showroom at 3401 Bagnell Dam Blvd in Lake Ozark. The team has been putting the finishing on the exterior in the last few weeks but has already been busy helping customers.

“Over the last two years we’ve brought together five companies and none of them had a showroom,” said Jeremy Anderson, general manager of Big Thunder Marine. “”The showroom gives our customers an experience they’re not going to get anywhere else. No one has this many types of boats, brands and number of boats under one roof.”

Customers can expect to see boats, lots of them. Crest. Mastercraft. Blackfin. Monterey. Manitou. Yes, they are all there and more. Along with a trained and welcoming team there to make the customer’s boating experience a memorable one.

“The showroom is part of our overall vision to provide the best experience at the lake,” Jeremy said. “Whether getting gas on the water, buying a boat or having one serviced, our goal is to offer the best experience on the lake.”

Jeremy expects the showroom will also serve as a great community space. Big Thunder is already hosting boater safety courses there and will host the Festival of Speed on May 31 prior to Lake Race on June 2.

The new showroom has also provided a few new jobs as well. “A big part of the showroom is combining three different sales teams into one and now growing that team — we are looking to hire experienced salespeople to help us grow.”

The new showroom is located at 3401 Bagnell Dam Blvd , Lake Ozark
